...the wanderers: ruled by their addictions and their appetites, living for the moment and nothing more.
...the wonderers: know something is going on, wonder but not see, learn second hand, react to outside stimuli, could, would, should...
...the watchers: spectators, dream but don't apply, excuses and explanations, one disappointment and they are set back.
...the players: sacrificed, practiced, the best they can be, no compromises, love doing it, reach within, get out of their own way, take risks, tap into their powers, do the inner work, stop guessing and start applying with patience and a "knowing" that it takes many sessions, many weeks, and many years to reach their potential.

...16 weeks till july 4th... 48 sessions if you drop into 3 per week, 62 sessions if you select 4 sessions per week, and 70 sessions if you are really "creating" that body temple you envision...
...whether your personal investment is fitness driven, longevity driven, event driven, or mentally and emotionally driven...a few questions for you to consider:
are you really committed to doing what it takes between now and end of the year to meet your training goals, knowing that holloween, sugar, holiday parties, cakes, breads, alcohol and foods will be presented in front of you on an ongoing basis? (the ave american gains 5-8 lbs oct 31 to jan 15th)
do you REALLY know what it takes to meet those goals?
are you willing to pay the price?
why are you training like you are, or are you training like you were?
what is your "reason" for training so focused, knowing that the reason is the driving force behind staying power and consistency?
what is stopping you from being your best by january 1st?
how will you feel when you are there and you meet your goals?
actually and specifically: what are your goals? fat weight, resting heart rate, lower cholesterol, blood pressure, power, speed, confidence, longevity?
what do you have to do to be better?
how will this serve you?
define commitment, your definition of commitment for this project?
...again, just a quick, short list of inner work, for outer work results, a reflection as it effects your preparation for your training and your new year.
personally: still a student even after 100's of thousands of miles on the bike, after 51 marathons and 10's of thousands of miles on the running roads... i never take any training session, any race, any race preparation for granted... similar to the art of wiping down your bike being a reflection of your care and love for your body and your piece of equipment that will get you there, and/or taking a nap before a major training session and/or packing that extra fuel or electrolyte in your bag; a caring thoughtful loving approach to your new year, your race or training preparation will only manifest a better experience, a better personal best, in alignment with what you truly want... from the inside, the soul side - out...
don't disregard this aspect of your project... treat it special, treat yourself special... RESPECT is one word i see left out of so many training and racing equations from so many people.. respecting themselves first... before pointing fingers...
leading is not about you, it's about getting your act together so streamed line that you can look outside yourself and lead, by example, from the heart to bigger and broader venues, like peace, hunger, education, empowerment, self care, whether it's for your kids, your company division, or world positioned humanity organizations... but yes, it's starts with you, and drives paradigm shifts for all...
have an awesome restful day, be aware, we're cranking it back up over the next 16 weeks...so fuel, eat, load, rest, massage.. treat yourself like a pro athlete if you're taking on a pro training schedule...
gary.
